owners, please chime in here.
h:
some background info:
Student (Lit/Writing)
Likes to write outside of school
saving space could be a convenience, but new to the laptop thing.
plan on putting a few writing programs along with some media (editing) programs as well.
What do you think is ideal for me?

I do just about everything on my laptop anymore except gaming.
No reason why you shouldn't really IMO. Only thing my PC does now is work as a file server...aside from that it never gets used anymore.

gotcha. I'm not really big into gaming. Will use it mainly for video editing, screenwriting, plus the usual Word writing projects. I will also possibly use it for business as well.
PC > laptop for video editing

It takes longer to render video on a laptop because of processor power etc. but they do just fine. Last three vids I have made have been on my laptop and I have rendered up to 90 minutes at one time which took a couple hours in DVD format.
