I'm the opposite way. I can sit down at a computer and things just pour out.

i lug my labtop to school where i know most of the students (small campus) and i never ever leave it completely unattended or unlocked
i also bring it to friends houses where i need to use it or do work
ill bring it to work when the weather is good and i need to get to class after work
Well for around here, public transportation-subways busses, it is common to see these bags get lifted.

I've used laptops since college. It makes the moving easier, and I live in 2 places now, so I'm able to have my computer no matter where I am. Built in wireless does rule.
