FF > crap > Canada > IE

Give me some reasons you "think" FF is overrated and I'll show you why you are wrong.

tabbed browsers are overrated...it's no different than just having a new IE window open, and changing from the taskbar...except it's more intuitive (for me at least) to change windows from the taskbar.

I click certain links in FF and they don't work, but in IE, they work just fine. Also, I can't figure out how to stop FF from saving addresses in the location bar, and dropping a window everytime I try to type in an address.
I think people say the prefer FF because IE is M$'s thing and they just want to hate.

What links don't work in Firefox?

Click on Tools, then Options. Click on Privacy and expand the History field. Set it to remember for 1 day. That will help.

I prefer Firefox to IE for many reasons, and here are a few:

- Firexfox loads faster than IE, which is a little confusing as IE is theoretically part of the OS

- Firefox blocks popups by default

- Firefox loads and parses web pages faster than IE in most circumstances

- Firefox is open source and peer-reviewed, and the performance of the browser benefits

- Firefox is not subject to the endless parade of security vulernabilities that IE enjoys, and is more secure to begin with

- Firefox has an extensive library of modifications including themes and plugins that appeal to me (for example, SAGE is an RSS feed manager that simply rocks)

- Tabbed web browsing and type-ahead completion (lets you find a link in a document by typing the word)

- Firefox tends to use less system memory than IE. YMMV.

Firefox is everall better, I think people just don't like trying new things

Tabbed browsing is a lot better than having 20+ IE windows in the taskbar, I browse multiple forums and all the threads I'm looking at in each forum is in just one window and I just use the tabs to navigate through each thread..

I can do the same exact thing with IE, just that you just change from the taskbar.

What about when you have more programs than just IE open? What about when you're going through multiple sites/forums? How organized is that? just having them all in the taskbar?

Tabbed browsing is better :slap:

The main diffrence is that each IE that you have open is another program running, 5 IE windows will take up more memory and cpu time than one FF with 5 tabs open.

I don't use FF cause I hate MS. I use FF because I think it's a much better, more secure, faster alternative to IE. IE is ok, but there's TONS of bad things that can be done. FF has more control, you can bring back the times of when your browser simply showed you a webpage, not the webpage took control of your browser and changed things.

That, and for the simple fact that IE has been around since the mid 90's and is full of problems. FF, which isn't even offically released yet, has been around for less than 2 years and is easily on par if not better than IE in most cases. No it's not perfect, no software is or will be... but for the amount of time that IE has exsisted and been around and the HUGE amounts of financial backing that is behind it... and along comes this little free browser that easily puts IE to shame... yea FF is a better product with people making it that care about the product, not that they keep turning out code to keep a job.

Viva La Firefox! :usa:
