I think people say the prefer FF because IE is M$'s thing and they just want to hate.
What links don't work in Firefox?
Click on Tools, then Options. Click on Privacy and expand the History field. Set it to remember for 1 day. That will help.
I prefer Firefox to IE for many reasons, and here are a few:
- Firexfox loads faster than IE, which is a little confusing as IE is theoretically part of the OS
- Firefox blocks popups by default
- Firefox loads and parses web pages faster than IE in most circumstances
- Firefox is open source and peer-reviewed, and the performance of the browser benefits
- Firefox is not subject to the endless parade of security vulernabilities that IE enjoys, and is more secure to begin with
- Firefox has an extensive library of modifications including themes and plugins that appeal to me (for example, SAGE is an RSS feed manager that simply rocks)
- Tabbed web browsing and type-ahead completion (lets you find a link in a document by typing the word)
- Firefox tends to use less system memory than IE. YMMV.
