dvd computer help!!!

hey everyone...i just got myself a new computer and it has a dvd burner... well i since i have a bunch of movies downloaded on my old computer i figured i can just transfer em to my new one and burn em on dvd's.... well i got some of the movies on my new pc... and i went and got some blank dvd's... but i just cant get it to work... i think it is the programs that came with my pc that suck... does anyone know how to burn dvd's???? or copy dvd's???? thanks guys....

yea i did some serches and found some free programs... and downloaded but they sucked and didnt work... and i found some cheap looking programs but i dont wanna waste any money buying em if there is something better... does any one have experience with this and could recomend a program or send me a program...i will try and post the names on the dvd burning programs that came with the pc if anyone knows how to use em... thanks

try dvd copytodvd v3.x... you get a 30 day trial with it. it's pretty self explanitory too. just click data dvd or whatever, then drag and drop the files you want to burn.

you can put them on dvd with nero. that doesn't mean they'll work in the dvd player. to do that, you have to convert them and author them and crap.

so what kind do you have (mpeg, avi, wmv, iso, tso/vob,???) and what are you trying to play them with?

yea i got the movie on a dvd disc and it plays on the pc... but not on dvd players.... that is what i want to do... and most of my movies are avi....I just wanna get em off my pc to free up space and since i got a dvd burner.. burn em to dvd's so i can watch em on my tv with a dvd player.... what program should i get that would be the easiest??? and what do you mean author them... i was reading about burning dvd's and they keep saying that but i didnt know what it meant... thanks

copying DVDs is easy.. all yuo need is DVDdecrypter and DVDshrink or DVD2one

converting from .avi to .vob is a pain

a blockbuster membership is your friend.. just rent/copy/return

haha... yea i would love to just rent copy return burn.... do they have any way of checking that you copied em??? and DVDdecrypter and DVDshrink or DVD2one is all i would need and i should be good? and it is all self explanatory? and these wouldnt happen to be free downloads would they???? its ok though i can pay some money for em".... and what do i need to convert them from avi. to vob. ? by the way... the programs that came on my pc are...click to dvd, power dvd xp for vaio, drag and drop dvd, dvd decrypter, dvgate plus, and i think thats it... can i just use these or prolly not???? anyway thanks alot blackmagik i will try and find them programs and i will look for dvdshrink and burnatonce.... can i just use them two and thats it??? thanks everyone
