also i know how to handle a car. I have pretty good experience in car control and know what to do given just about any situation. I'm not talking about driving in a public road for x number of years.
As for your example of a concrete slab, if it was big enough then I would be able to brake and stop in time. I maintain a safe distance and an escape route whenever I drive. Even if I had to swerve I would be able to maintain control and it would not be done blindly.
What I said still stands.

As soon as you drop back to a safe distance... another car will pull in front of you. You drop back... and the same will happen again. The only way to maintain a safe distance on crowded public roads is to STOP.

it can be done. sometimes it requires speeding up or changing lanes.
maybe not 100% of the times but it can be done and I do so.

you guys what to complan about highways, the roads around my house, i live out in farm counrty and theres many hills and turns. The problem is you could come around a cruve or over a hill and BAM theres a Buggy or farm tractor and you need to instantly react to advoid it if you not doing a safe speed or just in a bad spot, it is ALOT harder to drive when i live than in the city, and for anyone who is wondering where i live, Lancaster County, PA 17566, if you map quest a map for it you wont see half the roads that are acculy here.

i believe you said it best. "if you not doing a safe speed"
I'm sure other autoxers and track junkies can back me up. when a spin happens to someone without car control it's instaneous . for someone who has experienced it many times in a controlled environment (such as autox) it's slowed down.
just like top baseball hitters see the baseball in slow motion or see it as a size of a softball. performance driving experience pays off in real world driving.
again i'm not criticizing anyone with the above comment. I'm giving facts. Drive safely.
