Default PC questions.... URGENT!!!

i just used the "System restore" function on my PC... went from point A to point B, and back to point A again.... however, when i got back to point A again, some of my programs are missing.... has this happened to anyone?? and how do u make it go back to the original configuration?

btw, looking to buy a new PSU for my PC.... does generic vs branded matter?? thanx

i'm guessing the programs that are missing were installed after your system restore point was captured.

Are the programs gone or simply the icons removed? Are you logging in as a different user?

Go with a branded PSU, Antec or Enermax are good one's. Cheap supplies can at best just be unstable, at worst, damage components.

Restore points do not save programs, etc. Just critical windows components and their changes when the point is made. Let's say you install Halo and then go back to a point before you installed it. Boom, gone. Even if you go forward like you said. Or you migrate your pr0n collection to a computer then go back to a previous restore point. It's gone also, even if you resort back to a point made after said "migration."

shouldn't critical windows update be considered as critical components?
