is there any specific stuff that i should be looking for in ipconfig/all?

it shows a ip addy that is different than the computer that has working internet. subnet mask says 255.255.0.0 or something like that. dchp is enable. autoconfiguration is enabled.

what nic driver are you using? 3.11.050 is the latest according to the ASUS site.

just to cover the basics again.. DHCP is enabled?

what modem are you using?

i'm using the mobo's (asus p4p800 deluxe) onboard ethernet, using the marvell driver. dchp is enabled. i'm using the motorola surfboard sb4200

Thats the driver that comes with the asus mobo.

are you using the same cat-5 cable for both computers? and are you seeing a link light on the modem and your nic?

edit: also, are all of your operating lights on the front panel of the modem on? send, recieve, online?

same cable for both comps. blinking lights on modem. one orange light says on, the other orange light stays blinking on the mobo rj45 socket:thinking:

and yes, all of those lights are on on the cable modem.
