I think alarms are useful if you isntalled them yourself or atleast have the siren or whatever else that needs to be "still" connected to the car if its being stolen hidden so it cant be turned off. Honestly there's SOME dishonest people out there that install alarms and give people info on where everything is located so they can turn it off.

The alarm I was looking at came with an lcd screen on the remote and would notify you if your vehicle and been broken into. Then you come out of your house/workplace/mistress' apartment and beat the m0therfvcker that is messin with your ride.

I have the 2 way pager alarm from Clifford. I think it rocks! Especilally becasue it wakes me up at night by beeping in my bedroom when the trash collectors come by. So if anything's ****in with my car and i'm asleep i'll know. But like everyone said its just a detterent.
