I think alarms are useful if you isntalled them yourself or atleast have the siren or whatever else that needs to be "still" connected to the car if its being stolen hidden so it cant be turned off. Honestly there's SOME dishonest people out there that install alarms and give people info on where everything is located so they can turn it off.

basically its worth it if its installed right
