How much did it cost you? what kinda features did it have?

I also got my alarm installed by Best Buy. It was an OK job. They put in the indicator light and wired it pretty well, but they left the brain box sort of dangling by the wires under the dash, and they pasted the keyless antenna on the windshield right in my line of sight. I ended up taking it home and relocating the brain box and antenna.

Bought and got mine installed at BB November of 2000.
April '04 and the install and alarm are still good. The only thing I've had to replace are the remotes and my siren got a little water in it. :dunno: No complaints here...
Total cost about $450 for everything: Alarm with remote start and install

The whole thing with getting it installed somewhere is i'm afraid they'll pull the old trick of just stealing the car after the install, afterall... they know where everything is. I'm gonna get a quote on BB...

Can you say...paranoid??

I work at Best Buy, and I havent ever gotten any bad complaints about installs. The only complaints I ever get is that the alarm that they get may not fit their car and they have to exchange it for another one. Big whoop.

I'm lookin into gettin an alarm from my Best Buy and have them install it. I have NO CLUE how to install one...but I wont be gettin it for even half the price customers get. You wont BELIEVE the mark-up on those things!

i say dont trust best buy..and even the shops could be shady...its hard to say...it all depends on the individuals that work on your shit...if they're good installers it'll be clean and orderly...if not..it'll be a messy job w/wires twisted..WiLL is rite..its not easy to do a job that you'll b proud of..trust me..i watched the guys at best buy install things while i waited for my bf to finish work (he was an installer)....and i can honestly say...some of them are pretty lazy and shady...

The shops...they could get cocky and do as bad of a job if not worst..good luck..just do your research carefully...maybe u should look into people who already had their shit done...and ask them if they're happy about it...and take a look yourself to see if u like the job

even if you buy your own alarm,..most alarm installers wont touch it because they say some bullshit like "we wont install alarms that are not bought from us" because they want to make money,..i install alarms of any kind for my customers because i dont sell alarms so if they bring in one that they bought then im gonna install it and make my money,...installing alarms arent all that hard,..call me crazy but i like doing electrical work on cars,..most people hate it
