here's a link to the fraud awareness article for sellers that auto trader has on their site. sounds like they don't get involved but you can report it to the FBI instead!

So would you recomend using Auto Trader to sell your car? Currently I am trying to sell my Acura Integra, but haven't listed it in Auto Trader. Although I was thining about it.

I was just shopping for a new daily driver, and I found mine on AutoTrader. I don't think I'd buy one online but I used the filters to search only local vehicles, and I found a pretty good deal that way. If you're looking to sell, it can't hurt. Just use your common sense and other people's experience.

with a higher demand car like an integra, id definitely use auto trader....

i wouldnt buy a car across the country, sight unseen but i have browsed A/T for cars in my area...

The best thing to do with that scam is agree with the guy and have him send the check over. Then, keep telling him you didnt get it so he'll have to send it again and again... it costs him probably like $12 a pop to send the overseas mail so have some fun!

I figure the attention it brings especially if you list with a picture is more than worth the 30 bucks.
