"oh my god he is gonna shoot up a crowd of people" get over all this paranoia....ok maybe some whack jobs/jobs have shot up a crowed of people...so should I stop reading the political cartoons in the news paper for fear that the author will go crazy and start shooting......live your life..if a psycho starts shootin and ya get shot...that is the way life goes... live your life like everybody else...sometimes shitty stuff happens...but I am not gonna live my life in paranoia.

Perhaps you should read your quotes more closely.

The context is that the accused, who is defending himself with an insanity plea, drew some pictures which were later submitted as evidence by his own lawyers.

Given the fact that he is obviously a little messed in the head, it wouldn't be too difficult to suggest to him that he draw some pictures detailing his feelings while he was in prison. This could be done by a shrink, or his lawyers. It also wouldn't be too hard to lead him towards drawing the desired images.

i disagree, it is the secret service's job to identify any possible threat to the president, however unlikely, and determine if it is a legitimate concern.

Which is a perfectly acceptable response. As was any presence of the Secret Service, because they will be cited by their inspector general if they fail in their mission, which includes investigating any threats to any degree on the President's safety. The problem I have is that this thread has gone from pointing this out to an all out discussion on how it was inevitable that he would become violent due to his illustrations.

 

that was not my intention at all.. my intention was to draw a parallel between this kid and lee malvo to show the reasoning behind the actions of the secret service. you know, for those that just think this kid is "getting harrassed by the man"

 

It's even more basic than that, and there's no need to draw such a broad argument. The Secret Service must investigate any and all threats of any degree on the President's life. It's their job, and you can't blame the guys for the job they have to do... I think it's retarded that people on both sides of the fence are making a hoopla outta this.
