LilRexen, as I already said there is no gory drawing of the president in some form of mutilation.

An effigy is an object intended to represent another person. The picture, as described in the article, is of an arab with a gun, holding up an effigy of president Bush. Not his actual severed head.

What's the difference between text and a picture? Same medium, same intent, same message.

Watch out Mike, the SS will be knocking at your door any time now.

But I don't think he's actually mentioned that he would like the president killed. I, for one, would not wish that upon him... I'm far more scared of Cheney than him h:

I think first I'd have to get reported to the cops by some paranoid high school teachers.

Well, I was never good at reading deeper into things. Like in English class when they took a classic book and asked you what the author was REALLY saying. Well, I don't know. Black Beauty is a story about a horse and a severed head is a severed head to me. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and if this kid was so politically astute then he should have realized the possible implications of his drawings. In highschool, we would draw symbols on our foreheads, peace and anarchy signs and whatnot. But not one of us ever drew a swastika, realizing the possible backlash it would receive. There is a certain amount that people can be pushed and when you cross the line you need to accept the consequences.

The Department of Homeland Security is watching! :eek3: Ask any true patriot and he or she will tell you, it is more ungood to say that this enemy is greater than our protectors. Return to our War On Terror. Occupy your minds now or the terrorists will win! War is peace.

No matter where you stand on any issue, it's easy to see why people draw parrallels between this little incident and Orwell's eerie social commentary. It is my view, however, that the media need not guide our lives. All of us have formed an opinion on this matter based solely on what has been reported. If every reported fact were present, we could still only speculate without first-hand knowledge. Fair judgement demands first-hand experience. By all means, debate on; There is, however, little fact in any news story today, to actually debate.

overpaid? IMO a starting salary of $40,345 per year is by no means overpaid when you're expected to unconditionally take a bullet for someone. i guess next you're gonna say that police and firefighters are overpaid
