The context is that the accused, who is defending himself with an insanity plea, drew some pictures which were later submitted as evidence by his own lawyers.

Given the fact that he is obviously a little messed in the head, it wouldn't be too difficult to suggest to him that he draw some pictures detailing his feelings while he was in prison. This could be done by a shrink, or his lawyers. It also wouldn't be too hard to lead him towards drawing the desired images.
