The PCI gives me an antenna - I'm a good distance from the wireless hub, but still get great reception with it.

I also got it on ebay, new - so i can't exactly return it

I also don't have USB 2 so my speeds with a usb adapter would be slow

:nono: trust me, you do not want to call them:

- the wait takes forever
- they have to get their customers off the phone by 15 minutes (solution or not)
- most of them will brush you off with an answer like "buy a new one"

I would know, I was working for their tech support h:

Try setting a static IP address 1st

go to the store, buy the exact same model, try it. if it works better, return the ebay one in the new box and return it. if it still runs the same, just return the one you just bought

The thing with windows XP, it has its own built in wireless utility.
Are you using that utility or D-Links utility?
Sometimes when you have both itll start causing connection drops, connection drops while doing large file transfers.

I'd say use one or the other. If you want to use the D-Link utility than completely disable the XP utility (you have to go into your computer management). If you want to use the XP utility (which is very user friendly) you can uninstall the D-Link utility. Also make sure not to have any firewall software enabled (depending on how secure the network is) because routers tend to have a built-in firewall

I've tried both windows, and D-links - both work the same...

I'll go disable window,s and use d-link - I like D-links setup better - i can see signal strength and whatnot...

I have my firewall disable already
