Computer people: I'm having sound problems
For the past two days, whenever my computer plays any type of sound file more than three seconds, the sound skips as if you're listening to a scratched CD all the way through. What is the problem here? I have a Sound Blaster Live! 5.1 card that came with the Dell. I installed a driver from the support site and it didn't do squat. Any help would be appreciated.

Oh this is affecting everything, including my windows startup sound, background music when I'm playing games. Every MP3 I've played old and new all has the same effect.

sounds like a hardware problem to me :dunno:
i would try swapping in another sound card to see if that worked. if it does, keep it. if it doesnt, take it back for a full refund. this is what i used to do back in the day.
edit: also try just closing everything thats running in the backround. maybe theres a program thats running thats screwing stuff up.
