For a good, cheap target pistol I don't know if you can beat the 92. Nice gun.

That's the Ruger Mk.II. Great plinker, I love the little buggers.

Oh, did I mention the grip safety of the 1911? I absolutely hate grip safetys, so I'm automatically biased against the 1911... the 8 round mag doesn't help either.

For a cheap, fun, and reliable pistol, grab a Bulgarian Makarov. Under $150, acts just like a PPK. Caliber 9x18 Makarov. They're brand new military surplus.

Here are a coupl of pics...

Rock Island Armory Commander (1911 variant .45acp)

My IPSC gun, a Springfield 1911 with a mild melt treatment, ambi thumb safety, extended grip safety, extended mag release, extended slide stop, match trigger, match sear & lightened mainspring, 23# recoil spring and custom sights. Pictured here with Chip McCormick 10rd Mags and my Benchmade Emerson CQC7 folder (First gen!)

Here is my IPSC speed rig. Fast as hell!

Beltster Holster with a Springfield Stainless 1911, SPringfield Ultra-Compact 1911 and Glock G30 (Shitty pic quality, I know)

In this pic, you can see the Taurus 669 .357mag and the Ruger Single 6 convertible (22lr and 22wmr)

I know I have more pics around here somewhere.....

MecTech Carbine Conversion Unit. Uses a 1911 lower to turn a pistol into an Urban Assault rifle. The pistol lower is from my Kimber Custom Classic 1911 (Sold the Kimber)

No point using 5.56 unless you're going up against body armor.

Plus I think all 5.56 weapons are illegal for civvie use.

do all guns have the potential for add-ons later? By add-ons I mean a scope or laser sight or suppressor...stuff like that. Or do you have to make sure to buy one with all that stuff?

Mostly because of the ridiculous muzzle velocity.
