Unless you've read every religious scripture from every religion, you have no right to say that. So YOUR book says that you are the light, the way, etc. So does every other book. You're being incredibly hypocritical.
Have you read the Koran? If not, then how do you know that ITS not the true way to the lord? Or how about the Torah? or the Bible?

You bring up a nice point RB, and I encourage anyone looking into the LDS faith to also look into the works and teaching of other faiths.

In your first comment, it is plain to see that you do not think that Catholics live "according to the teachings of the Lord" by saying that your gf WAS Catholic, but is NOW "living according to the teachings of the Lord."
By the way, the phrase "living according to the teachings of the Lord" is fawkin' creeping me out. :ugh:

im sorry, i guess i should have been more clear...

and why does that phrase creep you out??
Look, I'm not going to be able to explain it to you in terms that you will understand, but here goes anyway.
The very fact that you want people to "understand" Mormonism is essentially you pushing it on people. Sure, you're not actively telling them to convert. But tell me I'm wrong when the guys with the nametags go around knocking on peoples doors, they're also just trying to get people to "understand" Mormonism.
What exactly is the difference between converting and "undertsanding the truth"? There isn't. It's religion. Religion is based on faith. The only way someone can "understand" a religion is if they have faith in it. So even though you're not trying to "convert" folks, essentially the only way they can "understand" is to convert.
So. You got your religion. Great. It would be oh so lovely if instead of trying to get the board to "understand" your religion (and I'm sure you guys are urged to continue on in the face of resistance such as I'm presenting), you would just accept the fact that when dealing with folks, everyone has faith in different things and the only person that is going to "understand" your religion is someone that is already a member or someone that is willing to convert.
I got nothing against your religion, or you practicing it, or you believing in whatever you want to believe. BUT us folks who are quite content with our own religions don't necessarily have the desire to "understand" yours. That would mean giving up our own faith in something that we are just as strongly connected to as you are to your religion.
Is it somehow possible for you to practice your religion, without all of this poking and prodding of other folks to "understand"?

As far as the Church is concerned, its not about wether or not someone is going to heaven, EVERYBODY is going to heaven when they die... Now understand, there are different parts of heaven, all of which or more paradisical than this Earth. If someone is contempt with what they believe, or don't believe and live an honest life within themselves and those around them, GOOD, that is all I pray for. I AM NOT TRYING TO CONVERT, I am working to become a solid LDS Apologist... It's about DEFENSE.
