Oh great my dad got in another wreck
He totaled the Elantra last year, he's had the Jetta for less than 6 months and I believe its probably totaled too. This time its not his fault or so I hear, my parents have no respect for anyone of anything. Supposedly someone hit my dad when he was in the right lane, they were trying to merge in and hit my dad. We've told our parents time and time again that if they come to a merge area and notice someone on the on ramp that the courteous thing to do is move to the left lane if its empty. But, nope my parents think they own the world.
My parents have this idea that because we are their kids we are obligated to take care of them. They pretty much expect everything, we've purchased 3 cars for them in the last 4 years and they destoryed all 3. Its like dealing with a pair of 2 year olds.

Cars we got them:
1989 Olds Cutlass - they trashed that and gave it to me. I had to work my butt off just to keep it running.
1994 Hyundai Elantra GLS - totaled that.
1994 VW Jetta - probably totaled too
I dunno whats gonna happen. We take care of the cars, clean them, fix them and they just go around destroying them.

Seriously, if this is how your family operates, you need to get out of there. They can walk, take the bus or taxi....but no more driving for either of them, IMHO. This scenario is absolutely mind-boggling to me. Your parents must of had their lives in order at some point; why are they being so reckless now? Truthfully, I'm amazed your father can even find insurance coverage -- given the number of wrecks he's had.
If I were in your shoes, I'd put my foot down on this. Take their licenses, and refuse to let them drive your car. I'd report them to their insurer, to the local law enforcement, anything it took to send the message that a) they are responsible for their behavior behind the wheel, and b) they have used up all their "second chances"; no one will cover for them or clean up their mess.
Bold, controversial action - IMO - must be taken.

:werd: they are your parents and all, but think of the people's cars they are wrecking...i know if that was me getting hit by a reckless person i'd be totally pissed, especially if they have prior accidents that are reckless...handle that man.
You need to buy them an old Chevy or Ford pickup truck. One of the real big ass ones. You can run over Hummer H2s in those and probably not put a dent in it. In case of an accident the force of the trauma will go straight into your parents fleshy bodies due to do the unwillingness to bend of the thick steel. Maybe that jolt will put something into persective.
But yes it seems to be a lot of old Indian people think they are the Sheik of the ****ing world and they can do whatever they want.
