I applaud Dish Network for standing up to Viacom trying to use their power to bully Dish Network into paying for stations they don't want and hiking the rates. I think you need to look at more objective services than Viacom itself. Besides, the channels are back up now after only 36 hours, and you get a free Pay-per-view movie out of the deal.

The reason Dish Network had to pull the channels is because their contract with Viacom ran out, and if they continued to show those channels without written consent from Viacom, Viacom could easily sue them.
