try to take it a step further and refrain from using your room for anything but sleep and getting ready... if thats not plausible, then NEVER turn out your light when you're in your room unless you are going to goto sleep...

do u listen to music to help you goto sleep?? do u listen to music in your room at other times??
I fall asleep to the tv. I never turn my lights off until I go to sleep.

What I am currently doing is re-setting my sleep cycle...it takes a while but...it is working......but you have to be very disciplined and it can be hard especially when you are in college.

What I have to do is....
first nite go to bed at whatever time you usually go to sleep
2nd. get into bed with the lights off...no distractions and do my sleep excercise which I will explain later
3rd....you keep moving it back an hour each nite that you are getting into bed, until you re-tune your sleep cycle

it is a pain in the ass and for the first few times I still would just lay in bed...but after a while your body will start re-adjusting its self to going to bed earlier and getting up earlier...

my sleep excercises consist of laying on my back and putting each part of my body to sleep starting with my feet moving up to my head...it usually works really well, you also have to clear your mind of anything that you have been thinking about, stressing, school, girls whatever....just think of a picture of the color black.......give it a try :goodjob:
Thanks man. But, been there done that. I'm at my wits end, it's literally destroyed my schooling with my classes being in the morning. My uncle will call me in a perscription, although I think I'm going to get a diagnosis first and see what they have to say locally. I have a friend that used Ambien and she swears by it. She isn't using it anymore and goes to bed at a decent hour. Medication is my last resort and sadly, that's what it has come to. Thanks for your suggestion nonetheless.

ok then back to the first question...

you cant do ANYTHING from your bed except lay and sleep.. nothing on, the only entertainment is in your head... thats all...

for the next few nights try that... about 1-2am... get in bed, lights off, everything off and just think.. eyes closed.. jerk it once to help wear uour body.. its helped me, and others lol... have u ever jerked with just images from your mind?? it wears yer mind and yer body at the same time..

You need to turn off AIM. You would relieve a lot of stress that way. h:

Seriously man I am in the same boat as you tell me what you find out because I go to sleep at anywhere from 3-6 in the morning and I can't wake up until 11 to 1. When I wake up I am still tired, but not sleepy enough to go to sleep. I've tried to stay up for a whole day and force myself to go to sleep but that doesn't work either. Basically my wife comes home in 1 month and so does my 1 year old daughter and if I can't go to sleep until wierd hours it won't be easy taking care of all my soon to be duties again.
