the salesperson probably just wanted to make some extra cash.

get a $2 plug kit. It looks like thin black licorice or a sticky black shoe lace with a needle. Its pretty simple to thread and it takes about 2 seconds

Looks like that tread has seen better days. I give them less of a life expectancy then the plug :dunno:

Plus they're Toyo...they melt away like butter.

Do not get a plug kit. They are worthless. In that position it might be extremely tough to use a patch/plug kit. The patch plug kit comes with a plug attached to a 1 or 1 1/2 inch diameter patch .. in order for it to seal correctly the surface of the patch needs to sit flat. It definately looks questionable though - I know sears charges 16 dollars for a patch/plug combo (i work there). . but yes DO NOT PLUG IT

You can get that fixed for under $10, my friend brought it to a tire shop, they un-mounted the tire, and patched it from the inside.

most places won't balance it afterwards. they mark the tire and wheel with a tire crayon, and put the weight back where it was.

secrets of the tire industry revealed.
