I've had advisors backdate emails and sent them to the president to cover their ass and they got caught by the header files. I was supposed to graduate in May 2003 but got screwed because I wasn't given any information about the classes I could take and hence missed all the deadlines. Its come down to the point where unless I cc the president on an email no one wants to give you any of their time.

The computer engineering technical electives must be taken from 400-level CPE courses. The other technical electives should be selected from 400-level courses inelectrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science. However, students with special career objectives can petition the department through their advisors for prior written pennission to select technical electives from upper-division courses in mathematics, the sciences, or other areas of engineering.
Thats from my course catalog. I have the CpE elective and its the other elective they are bitching about. I used a CS course because it says The other technical electives should be selected from 400-level courses inelectrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science. and my advisor said the course would count.
