Most companies are skeptical about hiring non US citizens. 6 figures would be great if I could find a job. Its sad... "Sean you are the perfect match for the position we have open. Now you are a US citizen right?" Me: "Nope..." Them: "Next..."

I doubt the advisor can do anything for you. Time to talk to the Dean but I still have doubts of anything working out in your favor. You can try to ask if they can wave that requirement (for the class) but it's a slim chance.

But I was told the class would count by my advisor and I had my advisor and the Dean sign the same graduation paper last semester. Nothing has changed since then, so obviously if they screwed then its not my fault. I have some avenues that I am not yet going to go down... the former Dean of the college is a family friend. My brother also knows a lot of people and he is very well respected because he is the recruiter that comes to the career fairs over here from the company he works for.

Mistakes are made all the time.

If you have connections don't wait. Use them now.

INS law states an international student can only be part time on his/her final semester. This is my final semester so I am part time. I am not too eager to get my ass thrown out because of no fault of mine. The thing is this is not the first time I've had a problem like this... I've had advisors backdate emails and sent them to the president to cover their ass and they got caught by the header files. I was supposed to graduate in May 2003 but got screwed because I wasn't given any information about the classes I could take and hence missed all the deadlines. Its come down to the point where unless I cc the president on an email no one wants to give you any of their time.

your school doesnt provide a General Catalogue for students? it all comes down to you. advisors are there to help, but ultimately you are the one responsible for your education and graduation.
