yes...i am actually thinking about that as well. i'm sick of getting harassed

 

i guess i should also hold off on the exhaust but my friend with an apexi has never been pulled over and also has nevada plates in cali.

 

rs*r exhaust, dc header (carb eq), aem intake (carb eq) = happy aaron

i never got a fix it ticket except for stickers not coming in yet, and when i did i got the ticket signed off (knocks on wood)

the exhaust thing will not hold up in court, go to another officer and have them sign it off

 

damn, i used to get those tickets all the time :chuckles: at least he didnt' make you go to a referee for a complete inspection. i had two of those, and it cost around $40 each time.

anyway, just bring your mfgr paperwork with you to court. i wouldnt even sweat it.

Not to be contrary, but the revisions to CVC 27150 and CVC 27151 explicitly state that CA Smog Referee stations are to perform the SAE standardized test and issue certificates of compliance (with the 95dbA limit)...for a fee, obviously.

I honestly don't understand how one can make the inference that "no-one does the test." :dunno:
Unless someone here has gone to a Ref station and been told "No."... :thinking:

 

One of our DSM's got pulled over for "loud exhaust", driver stayed polite, we went when the cop was on a call, and one of the other police officers came out side, asked us to rev it (we reved to 3g only), signed off, and we were on our merry way...

...found out the cop that issued the ticket is my neighboor :eek3:

 

sheriff deputies around that area suck. ive been pulled over by 'em countless times.
