its not that I really lost all my friends, but a lot of my friends back in high school didn't end up going to the same college as my gf and I did...so we really clung to each other. After that I never really made an attempt to make friends because I got so comfortable just being my gf and I. Her and I are still great friends, and we will continue to be, but it IS hard to get over her since she is my roomie. I don't want either of us to move out because all I really need is time, but in the mean time I just need to be happy and not thing about all this stuff thats keeping me depressed.
you need to go out and socialize. me and my gf are the same way. we really clung to each other in the beginning couple years of our relationship. its not exactly a bad thing, but its not healthy either. you get too dependant on each other. but now, im meeting new folks, and shes joining a shitload of clubs and doing mucho volunteering so shes meeting and hanging out with quite a few people too. and i think we are both much happier, but we still love each other like no other.

I get my mind off of it by getting out on the Pacific Coast Highway and taking a nice, long relaxing drive...usually with some cuban jazz or Louis Armstrong.
Once out by Pt. Reyes Lighthouse - or some other place, it's simply a matter of letting go of the pain, by actively recognizing the validity of your current emotional state, and then choosing to put it behind you. The Dalai Lama's book, The Art Of Happiness: A Handbook for Living is a fantastic book to help you cognitively and emotionally become more self-aware and at ease. I recommend it highly.
I've also found that just writing... er, typing - to get the emotions out - also helps. Think of it as neural catharsis through the fingers. I strongly recommend against turning to destructive vices as a means of coping.. it can lead to serious physical and mental health issues in the long run.

Recent things I've done to combat these shitty times:
-Gone to church to see if there's a God
-Often talked to my best friend/cousin about her
-Been boozing for the past several days
-Driving the piss out of my car
It's not that recommend these, It's just an insight that's all.

find whatever used to get your mind off of irritating issues (a hobby? - other then car related) and work at that. Hang out at the library....I know I know...my pop always tells me to do this and I have yet to try it

Listen to some uplifting music. If you start crankin the hard core death metal or gangster rap, your just gonna get more pissed off.
Drinking only intensifies the mood your in. If your pissed/depressed, you'll get more pissed/depressed.
Buy something for yourself.
Find some recipes and start cooking :dunno:
Main thing, keep yourself occupied.
