ask someone who will know, like one of their mothers.

it's probably best to stick with the registry stuff, unless you REALLY REALLY know their taste, then it's okay to deviate from the list. otherwise, gift certs are awesome and they go with everything.

Thanks for the ideas everyone I like the engraving idea and there is a "Things remembered" store in a mall near my house that does that stuff, but technically they are already married (they had a JP marry them before he left for Iraq) so this is the formal wedding ceremony now basically, so which date should I put on it??

My buddy's getting married, and I'm poor.

I'm gonna buy a $5 toaster.... and write "HAHAHA" on it.

I would agree with the others that said registry. If you dont know where they registered, you can always ask them yourselves. That's what i did. If you dont want to get them anything off the reigsitry, you can always just give them money. I honestly would not buy anything off the registry.

honestly, the only way to know is to ask them which date they're going to celebrate as their anniversary. :dunno: otherwise, you could just have their names engraved, or maybe a line of poetry/song lyrics (maybe ask them what their first dance song will be, and choose a line from that).
