Default wedding gift?

What should I get my buddy for him and his girl for thier wedding? We've been friends forever (like since 1st grade or so) I'm a junior in college now....he's my age, in the military, based in Italy, and currently in Iraq, but coming home soon to get married.

Any suggestions???

yeah...I have no idea what to get a certain somebody for his wedding that's coming up in a couple of weeks. :rick:
I might cheap out and just buy a gift certificate...'cause I suck and buying gifts...and I know that anything I buy, they're probably gonna get 10 other identical ones.

:werd: The registry is always a good place to start....

If you want something more personal hit up a shop that does engraving. You could get a silver frame and put their wedding date on it. Its usually fairly inexpensive....(I just got an ID bracelet done and the engraving only cost me about ten bucks....) Another idea (if they drink) is a nice bottle of champagne and some decorative glasses....

what if you don't know where they're registered, or if they're even registered anywhere?

I usually give the newly married couple stuff they need... That's usually houseware. I know that it's not something that personal, but I figured they're getting something they need. Bed, Bath & Beyond is your friend. :goodjob:
