I'm not worried about the cost of the ticket, i can pay for that. The thing that sucks is the insurance is going to rape me.

And that is why it's probably a good idea to get yourself a lawyer since the short-term costs from the lawyer will be much less than the long-term costs from higher insurance premiums.

I got a lawyer and the assistant DA who is friends with my lawyer after a 56 in a 35. Which was an utter bullshit 35 MPH zone, because I got pulled over between a cornfield and a forest. I thought it was 45 or 55 and didn't see the 35 sign. End result was a non-moving violation fine, $50. No insurance points or anything.
