not in performance the performance did not change. the hp rating was lowered.

More info on the right/wrong numbers? I'm not following, but I wasn't keeping up with the RX8 at all. :happysad:

They where rated at 247hp, then people bitched that they didn't turn the right numbers on the dyno. Mazda then revised the number down to 238hp, and offered to buy the original preorder cars back or give the owners X amount of free services. The power loss can be blamed on a few things, like flakey 6-port operation, rich break-in programs in the ECU, or just bad ratings by Mazda. I can't remember what the final verdict was.

The automatic 4 port is rated at 197hp now, I don't remember where it started. A tad over 200hp.

Which ones? The twin turbo 93-95 FD's came in at 255hp with 217ft-lbs.
