Well guys. I went out on Thursday to gateway country looked at eh DC-M42 played around with it, captured some video, then went and uploaded it to one of their comps. I was pretty pleased with the results, and the features it did offer. But I left to go look at Best Buy and give myself some time to think.

Later that night I returned after spending an hour or so searching the web, E-bay, etc. to find any good deals on the kind of camera I was looking for. But to no avail found nothing of the sort for the price the Gateway was.

I finally purchased the Gateway DC-M42 with the $40 accessory pack which included an AC adapter for uploading to the comp, a miniature table tripod for stabler shots, a case, and a 4 battery nickel-metal-hydride recharger. The camera was $250 with $50 mail-in-rebate.

It offers 4.0 mp, 11mb internal memory, manual ISO settings, white balance settings, flash control, and more I just don't feel like listing, (read: the link for the cam is above in first post)

I read the entire manual yesterday and in it does say it offers manual shutter control but nowhere in the manual does it state how to go about it...is there another name for controlling the shutter speed? i.e. ISO??

Don't flame I'm new to cameras and photography. Pic will be up as soon as the batterys are charged and software installed.

You're going to need a helluva lot more memory than 11 mb to store any quantity of pics. For example I have a 128 mb card with my 2 megapixel camera.

:werd: but I'll bet the default setting is lowest resolution or something other than highest resolution.

You'd want atleast a 256mb.

Yeah thanks guys. I was one step ahead of you....I bought a SimpleTech 128 mb SD card for $46 at Sams Club. So i'm pretty much set as far as memory goes at least for what I need it for.

On 4 mp, I can store 64 pics on the SD card, on 2 mp (internet quality) I can store 128.
