QVC has a nice necklace with no pendant... J67239

It's a nice BOX cut and it's only about $56.

I would steer away from a ring on a necklace, not because it symbolizes anything (doesn't as far as I know), but because I think they look weird.

I would also stick with white gold or silver, as many girls don't like yellow gold. UNLESS she wears yellow gold already, don't buy her any. Take a cue from the things she already has.

Don't get her anything at Zales...its just mass produced mall jewelry store crap. Go to a real Jewelers. One of those Mom and Pops places where they hand make everything. You'll get much better quality for your money. That mass produced stuff is shotty quality, and overpriced for what you are getting.
