I would say use 4 ga unless the amp only takes 8 ga. If you are going to add a second amp either now or down the road, definitely use 4 ga and run that to a dist block and bring 8 ga from the dist block to the amp.

The sub only needs speaker wires.

it takes power wire and ground wires. Use two seperate ones. It basically allows you to run the power and ground wires once, instead of per amp. Run a 4 ga into one end and have 2,3,4 etc 8 ga coming off the other end.

I got the subwoofer installed and got new speakers  It sounds really nice except for one problem. There is rattling on the front doors and some rattling where the rear speakers are I think the reason it is rattling is that I had to cut some plastic where the front speakers go because the magnet on the new speakers are bigger (It never rattled before I got new speakers). Do you think that could be the problem? I :dunno: why it is rattling in the back. Is there any way to fix the rattling besides getting Dynomat?

Does anybody know anyway I can mount the subwoofer down so it won't move around? I have to go really slow around turns, otherwise the subwoofer will get unhooked and disconnected.

Please replay,
Thanks

I bolted my subwoofer box down in the trunk with L brackets...speakers facing the front of the car so i can easily fold the seats down and unscrew the subs out the box when i need to...

You didn't answer my other question? Is there any way to get rid of the rattling?

I got my JL 12w6 and box for 125 from a friend. :fawk:

I'm using 460watts x 1 at 4ohms on that. Most people think I have 2 12's. Its great to see their facial expression when they its only one.

This is a question for anyone who has a sub or subs. What volume do you have it at when you are listening at a normal volume? and what volume when you have the sub pumping?
