We work long hours and take less vacations compared to other developed nation.
Look at France, their avg. work hours per week is 32, whereas ours is 40.
In the summer, most of them pack up and go on vacation while we still slave in the economy.
To get back on topic, I understand what you mean. When you call and specifically told the person you're gonna come in, and when you take that trip to the store and they closed on you (after telling you to come before 8pm), then that is pretty messed up and I would be pissed off.

All of you saying it's the employees' right to close the store early are displaying some pretty piss-poor work ethic.
I've worked retail before so I understand the desire to say, "**** it, let's go" but if you're not willing to work the hours you're supposed to, DON'T work there. Go find a job that lets you get off at 8:53pm or earlier.
About boycotting Autozone over this, I think that's going too far. Complain to their HQ, yes. Boycott, nah. But if you don't ever go back to that same store again, I wouldn't blame you. I'd be pissed too if I drove 20min to go somewhere that should be open just to have to turn right back around.

I'd close early in that part of town too..And I'm sure that's not the only parts store in Tampa..relax, someone got over and you lost out in the process. Kharma will pay you back, somehow..you'll get over and get a break. Relax. That's what you get for doing last minute shopping.
