Even if they deserve to get killed, who are we to decide who lives and who dies.... people need to stop playing God.

kind of an ironic comment, considering mohammed and malvo left notes containing the phrase "call me god".. no?

i live in maryland, rather close to where some of the shootings occurred. as a nova resident, george, i'm frankly surprised at your attitude toward this manner. personally, i didn't enjoy being scared to death to walk from the car to a store, worrying about being shot to death, every day for three weeks last october. it was horrifying, and terrifying.

mohammed is clearly insane. i don't think locking him up for the rest of his life is going to accomplish anything. he won't suddenly feel remorse for his crimes and attempt redemption. i think he should be shot, just like he killed all of those innocent people, in places that won't kill him, but only make him suffer. *then* we can kill him.

If you lock him up...im pretty sure people in jail will take very good care of him..or at least take care of the dirty work of killing him...

If he's clearly insane, then we cannot apply the death penalty.

1. If he's insane, he is not culpable.

2. The law requires that an individual about to be executed fully understand what is happening to him and why.

I think that the opponents of capital punishment as it is currently practised in the United States are more concerned with making a mistake than they are concerned with the convict's redemption.

Although I am sure you are a citizen of the United States, you seem to be unfamiliar with the Virginia Bill of Rights, a document that was incorporated into your Constitution as the first amendments before it was ratified.

Vengeance might not have anything to do with justice.

It's hard to decide.

At least for this writer, it's hard to decide if we should ever take a life in cold blood.

I resolved and, unfortunately, proved I could take a life in defence of another's, but killing after the fact won't bring back the victims.
