Poll: Muscle V.S. Import
My friends and i were all talking in class, they always talk about their goddamn camaros and muscle cars. They are also like you can put 5000 into a import and make it fast, but you can put 5000 into a mustang and make it really fast, they fail to realize on the other hand i can buy a 91 si crx for 3000 and a new mustang for 25000.
So the question is, if you had the money would you go muscle, camero, mustang chevelle, nova, or would you stick with the import?
If you go muscle, what car would be your dream?

I'm not sure why...but muscle cars never appealed to me. :dunno:
I think it has to do with me not really caring about going fast so much as I care about refinement and overall driveability.

of course you also fail to realize that you can buy a used Mustand 5.0 for 3K or less. :slap: for comparing a used car price to a new car price :chuckles:

im more of the early year imports, and these guys all have new stangs and stuff, as for prices i was just comparing their cars to one that i would pick.
I also on the other hand cream myself when im at the track and i see a chevelle hop 2 feet off the ground and still run a 10 sec quarter.

I actually like some of the old muscle cars, But I love my ricer!
The fact is that muscle cars can be faster b/c of their Biga$$ engines, but I can drive my not that slow ricer and won't leave me stranded, like some domestics do *Ford*
If I went with domestic "muscle", it would be in the form of:
1) a C3[74?-82] Corvette
2) Plymouth Road Runner, or my particular favorite...
3) the Plymouth GTX.
Any example of these classic "muscle cars" that I'd consider worth buying would rightfully command around 30K.
So, by holding myself to the same spending limit, it's very true that one could take a DC platform Integra, a S14 or a number of other platforms and make a very potent street machine.
That said, I don't think I could stay entirely within one "camp" or the other. In other words, I appreciate excellent design, regardless of manufacturer. And the two driving experiences are significantly different from one another, that I'd ideally like to be able to enjoy both.
