Well the friggin Army times says she is getting 90% so wfte

could really give a damn about the movied I did however watch it tonight and it was really damn accurate with the vehicles and uniforms at least, more than I can say about every other movie made about the military. The only other movies that are real close are Blackhawk Down, and Saving Private Ryan (or so my grampa who was in world war 2 says).

the only reason you give them  is because youre just tired of hearing about it. next time you make a jugdement like that, try to put urself in her shoes or her family's shoes...then maybe you'll look at it differently.
yep.. she fought the whole way she was knocked unconscious from the initial blast and woke up in a hospital... that took soooo much determination

don't get me wrong, i'm not disputing the fact that she was in combat. i'm disputing the fact that they're calling her a "war hero" simply because she was a POW. the real heroes in that situation were the spec ops team that rescued her. where is their full ride scholarship? where is their movie deal? you want to see a real hero? look up ANY CMH(congressional medal of honor) awardee. i distinctly remember one in particular that single handedly took out 100+ germans in WW2 with an entrenching tool. being a hero is not about being in the right place at the right time and being picked as a poster child by the media.

if its to be made a big deal of, what happened to those that saved her?

i dun get it.
it's called a purple heart and it's awarded to anyone who is wounded in combat... it's nowhere near a medal of honor.

Ya see it is hard for American soldiers to fight like this because our hands are really tied on a lot of shit that they are doing over there.
umm.. not exactly. determination of combatants falls under the hague convention of 1907 and is only briefly touched on again in the geneva convention under the treatment of POW's. individuals that are not wearing a uniform etc... are considered unlawful enemy combatants and are subject to combat
