the only reason you give them :down: is because youre just tired of hearing about it. next time you make a jugdement like that, try to put urself in her shoes or her family's shoes...then maybe you'll look at it differently.
yep.. she fought the whole way she was knocked unconscious from the initial blast and woke up in a hospital... that took soooo much determination

don't get me wrong, i'm not disputing the fact that she was in combat. i'm disputing the fact that they're calling her a "war hero" simply because she was a POW. the real heroes in that situation were the spec ops team that rescued her. where is their full ride scholarship? where is their movie deal? you want to see a real hero? look up ANY CMH(congressional medal of honor) awardee. i distinctly remember one in particular that single handedly took out 100+ germans in WW2 with an entrenching tool. being a hero is not about being in the right place at the right time and being picked as a poster child by the media.
