I don't put all my faith in astrology.. nor do I take any horoscope seriously. When I got my astrolgical chart done.. it was actually very informitive... so.. I view astrology as kind of like an inside peek to things. Not a complete picture... but you get a little bit of the idea to help understand things better.

Yup.

Any horoscope that detailed is bound to get a few things right, which it did. But there's twice as much stuff in there which doesn't apply to me at all.

What fortune tellers do in an in-person reading is a technique called cold reading. They start with the most general thing and play off the person they're "reading"s reaction. It's not that hard to do.

Since I know this technique exists and is in common usage, I don't put too much stock in astrological charts. Sure they're fun but I don't take it as a serious source of information.

 

Thanks for th information. I will go to these sites to check my chart. I truly dont feel this is any type of fortune telling or future telling device. I like to compare my traits and my close friends. I also agree this is a very old tradition and has been used by many people as a tool to guide them and help them. If anything it is fun.

The ones in the paper are not acurate at all. If that sums up your experience with your horoscope then this may very well be the reason you don't have any further interest in this matter. You might want to check your information through a more in depth tool, such as the ones referenced to me, but with your own information.

Do any of you that look at and review your chart use it to compare family members and friends compatability? If so how accurate is it for you?

My immediate family in my experience has been pretty close to nailing their personality's. I question the Birthdays of two of them because they were scheduled versus the traditional methods. I do wonder if this will affect what position they are left in, or is the circumstances overlooked and this is it. I mean can they be forced by this to be someone or have traits which under other circumstances or more natural means they would have been different?

Does anyone have anything to add cooncerning this topic?

 

I just went and looked up my horoscope at the horoscope area-I am not amused it says some not so friendly things about my personality which I disagree.

i think i know where you were going with this, but the tides are the same whether during the new moon or the full moon regardless so this line of reasoning holds no weight. during a full moon the moon has no greater gravitational pull then, than any other time. it just so happens that it's reflecting the sun on it's whole face and not part of it during a full moon. that's all.

either way i'm definately gonna have to agree with fatbooty here for once. astrology isn't accurate by any means. it's the art of telling people what they want to hear about themselves and throwing in zodiac signs to make it seem more credible.

it depends. For some people its more accurate than others.

besides, nothing acurately explains everything. Astrology is one way of saying the same thing Psychologists tell us, and so on.

So what is affecting us, exactly? Because I bet if you take your birthdate and do a little research into exactly what constellation the sun was in when you were born, it's not what you'll find in your newspaper.
