c'mon guys.. Dodge just didn't "slap" a turbo in the car.. the engine has been heavily engineered to put out this kinda power. And yes, Dodge could make an all-motor SRT if they wanted to with similar numbers, but that kinda of time and research would put the car out of the price market

and i agree with DakarM.. if a turbo is cheating, than so is VTEC and all other turbo systems.. so a twin turbo Z or supra is stupid and Nissan and Toyota were cheating to get the numbers???

and this 4cyl has been around a while, this was the engine that has been in neons before, in the stratus, and is in my PT Cruiser.. its just been re-engineered to handle this extra horsepower.. ive got 55K on my Cruiser, and no problems yet.

Well, that just makes Chrysler's usual quality control sound really dandy now...

There is more to driving a car than the pure numbers and the S2000 is not a car that one buys to get the numbers. It is for the thrill of revving the shit out of the motor and tossing it through a curvy road. Not for stupid macho ball-grabbing "oh look I'm faster than this guy" bullshit.

I like the SRT-4 and think it's a cool car. If you do too that's great. But don't be a stunna.
I couldn't have said it any better myself.

I'm very impressed by the SRT-4 and would consider getting one. But I've never driven one and even if it were fast as fawk and somehow pulled 1g on the skidpad, if I didn't like the overall feel of the car for whatever my intended use would be, I just wouldn't get it.

Hate to burst your guys bubble but the next Neon or whatever they call it is already scheduled to be on a fwd Neon platform for the next generation and the fwd Lancer (don't start talking about awd because you see Lancer) platform after that.

The mid-sized coupes (Stratus and Sebring hardtop) will be based on the new Galant that just came out.

The Stratus and Sebring sedans and Sebring convertible will also be based on a new Chrysler fwd platform.

So the only rwd passenger cars that come out in the forseeable future from Chrysler are the Dodge Magnum and Chrysler 300C. These are going to be smaller than something like a Crown Vic but still not that small. Right now the Magnum is only a wagon and the 300C is only a sedan. Top engine choice for both is the 5.7 liter 345 hp Hemi.

Ya ya off the SRT-4 topic but that's how it's gonna be.

thanks.... i already knew most of that info.. i didn't say when Chrysler would be converting to a RWD platform.. i was just expressing that i could see Chrysler doing it in the future.. does that mean 4-5 years later? maybe.. does that mean 8-10 years, sure.. i don't know, but i could see it happening. Out of the domestic manufactureres, they push harder for new ideas and concepts, they have much better concept-to-production turn arounds than the others, so out of all the brands out there, i could see Chrysler being one of the first to convert to a RWD. so you didnt burst anything, just my $.02

exactly.

and to say turbo is cheating, as many people have already stated, is stupid. is porsche cheating? is mercedes cheating with the S600? a lot of people say this when other cars make massive amounts of hp and they are ridding in cars with i don't know 120hp or so.

Well...

Of course, that's a K20A5 (DC5 ITR/Accord Euro-R) with this particular header on it and a bunch of time spent dialing in the Hondata on a dyno.

That's a K20A current JDM ITR motor.
