body work
I got a 91 honda accord that i am in the process of fixing and customizing it. I am at the point where it is time for body work. I was wondering what the best method of removing dents from my car. i have several very small knicks and dents around the car. nothing major at all. someone told me that for best results i should bondo the little dents and then sand them down. but i dont know. also, my back 2 quarter panels, along the edge of the wheel trim, is rusted and like almost the entire back where the bumper is mounted is rusted to the point where my bumper is screwed into my car somewhere. I was told that for the wheel trim to cut the rust out then use fiber glass and sand it down to the original formation. please help me with this because i want to get my car painted but I need to know the best method of repairing the body.

Don't just fill the dents with bondo either, drill and pull them out first. That is how it should be done. As for the rust, I would get new panels welded in. But that's a lot of work for a 91 accord if you ask me.
you might wanna try getting at them from the inside if you can and use bondo as sparingly as possible. it has the ability to crap and even pop out. as for the rust... the rusted part of the quaters needs to be cut out neatly enought of a new piece of sheet metal( cold rolled steel 12-14 ga. tends to be the easiest to work with since it can bend somewht easy from wht i can see) the new panels need to be cut out and shaped into the quaters meticulously. the new panels need to match the lines in the body, again you might think.... bondo... no thats the last step, you need to weld it in and hammer it pull it out, weld and then mold it to your bodylines. its a tedious process that wont come out good unless you are a good metalworker. bondo is then used to even out the surfaces of the new panels to match the body. again try to use as little bondo as possible. hope that helps!
