JDM, so I'm taking you haven't had any leaking problems or bulbs going out? The bulb they come with is an H3 right? So you just changed yours to a H1 and the light output is greater? Sorry so many questions I just want to know if these lights are good before I put my money out for them because I'm poverty-level poor and it's a big deal for me.

You can't use H1 in H3 sockets. But you can do the reverse.

But he's saying that they headlights come with H1 bulbs.

Hope it helps

You got a rare one it sounds like. in which case, that's awesome!

He just gotta be careful with the majority of the ones on the market. I know so many people who've gotten those H3 projectors and have had nothing but problems. Look great, but that's about it.

Okay I found a great set of TYC Headlights on Ebay and they look awesome. They are TYC Projector Headlights and this is the URL to them: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TYC-9...spagenameZWDVW

I heard TYC was a great brand and this pair happens to come with H1 bulbs. Anyone think I'm making a mistake if I were to buy these let me know...

I"m going to tell you some general pros and cons with TYC. These are general, and may not be specific for your application.

A pro with TYC is that they are the best "aftermarket headlights" as far as fittment. Most aftermarket headlights sits a little bit off i.e there is more space between the headlight and bumper, hood and fender.
Second, they come with clear lens while OEM Stanley usually don't, so this improves light output.

Con is that they are known to fog. They use H1 or H3 bulbs. [Worse light output than stock 9004, 9005, etc] These are not designed for HIDs, so don't even think about getting a HID kit. And these headlights are a headache to do a retrofit on, and it's nearly impossible to get a straight cutoff.

In other words, if you plan on using halogens and you are aware that it puts out less light than your current setup i.e blind on rainy days....then go ahead. They do look good on the car, but has no functionality.

Thanks for showing the pictures.

But you forgot to show the cutoff....this projector is from a 2005 S2000, and it has been color modded. Look at the color around the cutoff, and the width of the beam pattern. There is no projector that performs like this one.

Blue colors head on doesn't want anyone to get HIDs, or does it?

First off, the S2000 retrofit on that Accord looks amazing. What was the price on that?

Next so it is not possible to achieve even a "stock" light output from TYC headlights? Is there any way to get more light output from TYC headlights? And if not are there any projector headlight sets where I would not sacrifice any light output? Thank-you for answering all my questions.

The actual labor will cost you $330, and that includes paint, custom shrouds and color/cut-off mod.

But the price get's pricey because the S2000 projectors are the most expensive projector. If you want something that is similar to the S2000, but cheaper then go with TSX projectors. They are almost half price, and they even produce more color around the cutoff, and they are almost as wide and bright as the S2000...almost no difference. But more color aka rainbow effect.

Any aftermarket projector headlight will have poor light output...to my knowledge. Stick with your OEM headlights unless you want the car to look better with the aftermarket projector headlights, but be prepared for loss of light output.

For those who are looking for a hid kit should understand that the kit cost more than OEM D2S bulbs with OEM ballast. Thus, buying the real deal is cheaper. Second, if you are willing to spend 100+ on after market projector headlights...then use that towards the retrofit, because OEM headlights have the highest quality and allows for the best retrofit results.
