Default Tinting experience?

I have a coupe and was considering a tint. The rear quarter windows and the rear windshield are obvious. My main question is : would you tint your front windows, and if you would, what % would you get for the front? Also, has anybody in the Bay area had any problems with cops and front window tints? I just moved up here and I wanted to know if the cops (Palo Alto area specifically) are anal about these sort of things. Thanks.

i have a 35% charcoal llumar tint all around (except front windshield) of my 04 coupe, silver. it looks sWeet. if you can, id go 20% if possible. >:]

its perfect. of course, i wouldve gotten darker had state law permitted. but then again, VA state law says that the front two are supposed to be 50% max. not sure how tough-nosed your cops are, but ive been pulled over twice since ive gotten my tints (for really stupid things, not my fault) and not once have they commented on my windows. i've heard that cops wont pull you over strictly for tint, unless of course its completely blocking off any light and you look like youre doin shady business.

one tip in caSe you get pulled over, especially at night, is to pull to the side of the road, turn off your engine but leave your keys in, roll doWn boTh your windows, turn on your dome lights, and have both hands on your steering wheel before the cop rolls up. you can ask me why if you really wanna know, but trust me, it helps. :P

get the tint job done. it'll keep you relatively cooler in the summer time, too.

Most states dont allow the windshield to be tinted.
Unfortunately the state I reside in is one of those.
To bad for them I do have my front windshield tinted 50%. Its a very light tint.
It does limit the amount of sun light hitting my face which is all i care about.
At night, its dark in the car. Even if you stood in front of my vehicle you wouldnt be able to see inside through the windshield.

I have 35% all around
and 50% winshield.

I took a chance 5 months ago and tinted the two fronts 50%,
so far no problems in Sac area. I would love to tint the windshield
the same, but it would make the front two appear darker. A C.O.P
friend of mine did the same to his Accord coupe, so I feel safe.

Good tip, because it makes the cop feel safer knowing they can see everything, and being able to see where your hands are. Also, if you are about to reach for anything, like registration, or something in the back seat, do it slowley, and let the officer know what you are going to do. Makes their job easier, and possibly let you off for understanding.

I have 5% all around, and like 50% on the front windshield. F'ing sweetness. Highly illegal though, but i guess I'll just have to strip them off and pay for a vehicle inspection if anything ever happens. *knock on wood*

I have 5% all around in Vegas. Its illegal and very unsafe to tint the windshield, just buy a nice pair of sunglasses and you will look better too. Never had any problem with the Cops since Iam in a place where the sun is the brightest.
what will look nice will be trouble free for your car will be 5% on the back and 20% on the front windows. Coupes are actualy darker inside than Sedans so you will be OK will a 5/20 tint. GOODLUCK

I am more interested in UV blocking and heat blocking than anything else. The darker probably the better (people can't see inside your car and steal your stuff) if it actually reflects heat as opposed to absorbs it. Good call about being cool with the cops too, making their job easier makes them be easier on you. The City of Milpitas California has a "tuner" section written by a cop that details exactly what traffic cops look for when they pull cars over (not all cops are assigned as primary traffic duty), the mods and such. Anyway, my car is black on black which is fine in Monterey (70 degrees) but it sucks in Sac (90+ degrees).
