Tinting experience?
thanks for all the replies. sorry i couldn't clarify, but i just started a new job and that's been keeping me pretty busy.
i'm looking to tint basically everyting except the front windshield, and i was wondering what experiences you guys have with tinting the drivers and passenger-side windows, and also what %s are good for function/looks/not to bug cops.
so, looks like Llumar and life-time warranties are good recommendations, as well as 20% on the back windshield, and 35-20% rear-quarters, and maybe 50% on the front two and front windshield?
where exactly can i find this information? it would be really helpful, because i'm up in sunnyvale now, which is close to milpitas.

Do 20 on the back and 37 on the front windows. It is legal in most states except some where tinting is not legal at all. It will look nice and it will be dark enough for you. Dont forget the sunglasses though. Goodluck

That's the link for the Milpitas Police Department traffic people. You will have to search for the article I mentioned. It is in there somewhere. It details what they look for (citations) with tuner cars.

Has anyone had problems with the tint scratching on the passenger windows? I remember my old teg developing some scratches over the years I had her. That is my only reservation with the tint. I might go with 40-50 percent on the sides and 35 on the rear (I want to be seen driving my girl).

i thought they were just streaks from dirt or whatever, but after cleaning my ride twice in the past 3 weeks, it hasnt gone away. looking closer, theyre scratches. dont really see any on my driver's side though. very odd. anyone know why this is?
Scratches are kinda common on tinted windows. Don't sweat it man, just don't touch it often.
If anyone wants to see pictures of 15% all around on an RSX-S go to www.kenton.org/rsx/tint -- several pictures.

They just changed the tint law here in GA so that even if you are driving through the state you can get a ticket and I have heard of people getting tickets driving from FL. I know someone who got a ticket for having 20% all around. I have 35% on the sides and 20% on the rear windsheild. I like the 35% and it does enough.
