showcar = rice?
would anyone here consider a showcar rice?
i plan on turning my 99 civic dx into a bad ass showcar.
i plan on totally modifying the exterior and probably interior to look like something that came out of an aliens movie. i totally love H.R. Gigers artwork and i am a pretty damn good artist myself.
i was just wondering if anyone here considered showcars rice. it wont hurt my feelings if you think my idea is dumb, id just like some imput.

It's always pretty cool to see how crazy people can get with some of their cars. When looking at some finished projects, you can really see the passion that people have for doing it. But sometimes things are just way too over done. So i'd say that if you wanna get really crazy, you'd better have the power to back it up...
i heard the triple stacks with 3 LEDs are wicked cool
nah show cars are pretty nice...most of the better ones like at HIN when they are in orlando and miami...but about 80% arent driven there they show up in trailors and like he said they usually could take it to the track if they really wanted to but not more than maybe 5 runs before they cry about the dirt....just dont over-do it...just because pep-boys is having a discount on APC doesnt mean buy it all up...as long as its quality stuff and decent looking to you and you only thats all that matters...i dont really get the "rice" thing u guys are talking about...unless u mean like half the guys in jacksonville that are all show and no go

a showcar can be done tastefully. i dont think my good friends car is ricey but its all show. but i guess lots will think otherwise. lol, before you get into the fenders, mirrors, etc, hes had them on there for over 2 years now.
the number one rule in my book for show cars is
If you are going to make it into a nice show car on the outside,..you better have some shit under the hood to back up the exterior
i love when people misjudge my showcar and say "hes just a ricer with a widebody kit",..and all i have to say back to them is ,...try me bitches

I have a totally stock appearing GSX that will eat a Viper. I look for cars with body kits. I don't care how nice they are, all cars with body kits are slow because the owners spent all of their money in the wrong places.
A show car is a lot more than a paint job. It takes more than a body kit and a paint job to impress. If you don't build your car for competition in car shows, then it's rice. Everyone with any american car or turbo car will laugh at you whether or not you think they mean harm. You will have no control of that whether or not you win trophies.
Do what you like, man. That's the #1 rule. Screw what we think (I'll still laugh at you if you get a body kit though).
