What's your style?
Be honest, if you like TF&TF that's cool. Any flaming will be eradicated.
I prefer the classy, and clean. I like cars that keep their OEM lines and improve on them. I like pieces that accentuate the styling of the car without being right in your face. So that not one thing overpowers the others... if that makes sense.
It's taken me some time to come to that conclusion or to even be able to see that kind of styling (as the OGs well know) :chuckles:
So, what do you like? And, post pics if you have them.

my personal car, I would rather have a nice clean oem look.
on the other hand though, I can respect a clean well done show car. But, I can only respect it if it isnt one of those decaled, altezza, non lined up body kit peices of shit.

I'm guilty of liking cars with body kits and whatnot. I was into the show scene, but the trouble of maintaining a "show" car is too difficult for a daily driver. I guess you can say that my taste has shifted. But I can appreciate both sides of the spectrum, depending on what's done and how well it's executed.
i appreciate both sides of the spectrum like random said. its about the amount of time and work spent on stuff. i mean, a tasteless aluminum wing and chrome tail lights don't show any signs of work or care.. but if you mold on, shave off everything you can.. and you do it properly and with care.. then you've got determination and a love for your car.. the same love jdm whores have for their cars. i would love to go all oem, jdm products because i know the quality would be superior.. but sometimes its just so much easier and cheaper to throw in a little DIY or show mods. i know my car isn't a "jdm civic" cuz i can't afford those products.. but i think its a clean tastful looking car. it makes me happy
I can appreciate and well-done tastefully executed show car as much as the next guy. Simply because its a show car or "trailer queen" doesn't mean a lot of time, effort, money and thought didn't go into the process. I prefer to deviate from that end of the spectrum simply because of personal taste and appeal. I prefer placing funds mostly into something that will not turn heads from sparkly paint, but from running from a stoplight at briskly fast speeds, or carving corners with utter precision. Aesthetics also do play a role for me at least in attaining that image of functionality. I unlike many believe form is a true part of the "function". A ferrari is not only a sports car because of all the Italian engineering, but the aesthetical image it generates when brought into a thought process. It, simply stated, looks fast. So, I certainly don't believe its a 50/50 split, but more like a 60/40, or 70/30.
I think it is sad though what our scene is more and more pushing towards. I mean even "drifting" is becoming looked upon as a tad ricey because it came over form JDM land and is being Americanized. Who ever heard of a GTO (holden) drifting? Nobody. Splitters on front air dams, actually do serve a purpose if installed correctly and on the right application. But now if you see them on a 240 its rice. Where is the line drawn? It seems to me that this "line" is being forced further and further into territory that was at one time never considered "rice" and in this manner, will not ever cease to progress into and beyond what is considered "clean". This has been a huge dilemma for me in recent history, and maybe this should be an issue *intelligently* discussed among HAN. Where is the line drawn? When is clean actually rice? Why is rice so important? And since when is rice unhealthy :chuckles:

ehhh, if it makes you feel any better, my '90 accord ex had the DIY duplicolor two-tone Blue and black interior, accord type-r seatbelt pads, and clear corner/bumper lights.... :ugh:
I agree with 18secFerio on this one. Generally speaking, I think OEM is the way to go...except under the hood and behind the wheels. This isn't to say I dislike any exterior mods, but you don't see too many nice clean cars on the road. At least around where I live, you'll see a car that looks like ass, but is all go...or a car that looks like ass, and is *trying* to be all show.
honda_pilot makes a good point about shifting trends. It is kind of obnoxious to see anything Americanized...and to stop at Checker for some oil and be appalled by the lame-ass "racing" shit they sell, just because it's popular.
