Are S2000 gearboxes numbered in any way?. - I'm trying to find out if the gearbox in a car I'm looking at is original or not - even if it year identified by the casting number - this would help.

The other part of the question is - if it is numbered - where can I find out if this was the original?

nothing in the transmission number links the tranny to the chassis
