Default part identification and removal

hey i've got a 93 civic sedan,

i need to remove a black u shaped plastic pipe right behind the passenger headlight. (i think it's U shaped. from the top at least)

it was there from the stock air box i believe.

what is it, and how do i remove it. , i would go under the car and look but its all wet outside today so i don't want to do that.

someone help me out? thanks

Take off the bumper, and theres some bolts holding it down. Remove those and pull.

It's called the resonator.

It fills up the whole front of the passenger fender. Its pretty weird looking.

That took me a while to get out also... kind of strange. There are a few bolts to loosen, then you have to keep wiggling it to get it to come out. I remember mine was caught on something- so I just kept pulling until that sucker came out.

no way? so i guess theres no way to remove the resonator without removing anything else eh? thanks for the responses, i always thought that would be the resonator but it "appears" to be an U shaped tube... only

The easist way if u plan on not keeping it, is to cut that piece that goes into the engine bay. BUt u still have to take off the bumper to get the bolts. Or u could try to get it off through the fender well.

the U pipe goes from the bottom of the air box (where your filter is) and once it comes back up, it goes to the resinator box. It's a two part deal. Once you ahve the bumper off, it's very self explanitory. Take out 10mm botls, pull.
