On a tight track, it would have a shot. Equal drivers, it would be a damn good race. The S2K handles better but the M has alot better power. On a track with long straights, however, it'd be no contest.

Default Type r

I think its feasible for a Type R to come out as a spec that's a lil worse than the type-s, but better than the base...like the Maxima SE w/ the GXE and GLE....but when i read that they'd take out the rear seats....thats just B.S. up the ass. No way acura would degrade their quality like that...

ALSO...if there was a Type-R coming out, it would've been mentioned in Acura's future car plans....and auto magazines would've been all over this.

I disagree with everything you just said. Except the rear seats. I have no idea why you think they'd release the ITR to a lower horsepower specification than the RSX-S, that's kinda dumb and the G4 ITR already has 20HP over the Type-S...why would they possibly do that??

And no, Honda is very good at withholding secrets. When's the first time you saw pics of the 2003 Accord? About 2 weeks before it came out. And that was the ACCORD. Honda plans publicly for 2 months ahead, privately for 10 years.

THe RSX Type-R they release here will most def be a slightly watered down version of the one they have in japan right now (DC5 ITR)

EG: No Sparco seats, slightly detuned engine (to cope with our sh#tty 91-93 octane), etc. I HIGHLY doubt the salesman knew what he was talking about when he said "no rear seats" lol.

Dude, altough we saw the pics a lil before it came out, i knew that the new accord was coming out since a year ago. And, nowhere in the plans did i see an ITR...btw, although this isn't related to any import tuner, they're coming out with a new RL wid a beefed up V6 instead of their originally planned v8. (they're wonderful at keeping info rigt?) And, some ppl told me that Honda representives don't plan on bringing the ITR here to the states.

OKAY...i never said that they'd degrade any performance specs. I just said that it'd be a spec with less luxury features...which is why i brought up the maxima! the SE and the GLE have the same performance specs, but the SE has a sport tuned suspension and is slightly more for the "sporty" consumers. NOW, i'm not saying that if they ITR did come that it'd have the same specs. but, just less luxury and more sporty

The Accord was a bad example. Instead, I'll use the Civic Si.

I've known about Honda not manufcaturing a V8 since last spring...kind of obvious when Elliot comes out in a press conference and babbles about how a V8 is completely against Honda's tradition and how they don't need a V8 to make power. And the RL ain't gonna be RWD either...they have quite a niche.

The G4 ITR will come out when RSX sales slacken (now they're slackening because of the west coast port thing, but I mean for real slacken), which'll probably be in a year or two. It'll boost interest considerably. If they don't slacken, there will be no need to...but there's so much competition now, there will be.

How're they gonna make the ITR have less luxury features Acura wants to be luxury PLUS sport...I think they'd add MORE luxury features.

I was told that it will be a stripped down Type S, probably to cut weight, w/no rear seat and no A/C, together w/a higher HP engine, and LDS. Of course it will be more expensive than the Type S.
EWW!!! I smell something!
BULLS***!!!:madfawk:
Yup I think dealers just tell you what you want to hear.
